The Xbox Series X 1TB 4k HDR game console is one of the fastest on the market today.
It sports 16GB of video memory of which 14GB is available for gaming. And 16GB of GDDR6 main memory. A 1TB internal SSD (802GB available) that operates around the 4Gbps throughput speed and this can be expanded by a further 2TB (1.84TB available) plugged into the proprietary storage slot on the rear of the console and operates at the same speed as the internal storage. And a Blu-ray DVD.
All Xbox Series X|S games need to be run via the internal or expansion slot SSD. But games that are for the Xbox One can run via the USB expansion SSD (2Gbps throughput speed) or physical hard drive (700Mbps throughput speed). Plenty of storage is necessary, in this day and age, for games can easily come in at over 100GB for class A blockbusters.
The video is 4K HDR (Dolby Vision/Atmos) at up to 120fps with a TV which we use a 55inch LG C1 OLED and it looks and operates without lag on most games designed for the Xbox Series X|S. The console is backwards compatible with Xbox One & Xbox 360 games via an emulator for the latter games. Most games can be upscaled to Dolby Vision HDR and the upscale works really well.
The Xbox Series X sports three USB 3.0 ports two on the back and one on the front, a 1Gbps ethernet port, wireless 802.11ac, and an HDMI 2.1 port for plugging into a 4K HDR TV, and hopefully one with 120fps refresh rate like our 55inch LG C1 OLED. And ensure one uses a good quality HDMI 2.1 cable.
If you are upgrading from an Xbox One then most accessories designed for the Xbox One will work with the Xbox Series X console, including steering wheels, flight simulator controls, controllers, wireless headsets, etc..
