Wide awake and in bipolar mixed states tonight.

I'm in mixed states currently, happy to be high but also thinking about depressional thoughts. Very happy and crying at the same time, and experiencing insomnia isn't nice but enjoyable, if you get my meaning, as I'm experiencing emotions excessive mixed states, everything all at once.
Have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Friday and I'll be discussing the whole lot with him again, as I had an appointment at my home 2 weeks ago for an assessment. I'm on everything I can be on as I have other physical illnesses that restrict my choice of antipsychotic, so that cannot be changed. Basically, I have poorly controlled diabetes, and the majority of 2nd generation antipsychotics aren't suitable.
Because it's mainly my mood that's fluctuating I'm going to be concentrating on that and change the mood stabilisation drug doses if he agrees. Diazepam I do have but it only works for short periods and I've now exceeded that period, so it's useless for getting me to sleep. I'm also taking promethazine 50mg, and that's not helping with my sleep either, lorazepam may be useful 1-2mg at night.
Anybody else got any useful advice on getting to sleep at night that's maybe slightly unusual, as I've tried the majority of the usual things?
